Faith & Spirituality in Counseling

For many of us, faith and spirituality play a central role in how we understand self, relationships, experiences, and the world around us. Our faith provides a sense of meaning, hope, comfort, and connection—particularly during seasons of uncertainty, grief, change, or hardship.

As a Christian, I welcome the opportunity to incorporate a Christ-centered perspective into the therapeutic process for clients who desire it. For those who wish to explore their concerns through this lens, therapy may include conversations about spiritual beliefs, values, prayer, forgiveness, purpose, hope, or the ways faith informs their understanding of life’s challenges.

At the same time, I do not exclusively work with Christian clients, nor do I assume that faith should be incorporated into counseling simply because it is personally meaningful to me. Your beliefs, values, and preferences will guide our work together. I work with individuals from a variety of spiritual, religious, and nonreligious backgrounds, and I strive to create a space where you can explore what is meaningful to you without pressure to adopt any particular belief system.

We are so much more than and undefined by our symptoms, circumstances, or relationships. For many people, attending to the spirit—or to questions of meaning, purpose, hope, and connection—can be an important part of healing and personal growth. Whether your faith is central to your life, something you are questioning, something you have stepped away from, or simply not part of your worldview, there is space for those conversations when they are meaningful to you.

My role is not to tell you what to believe. It is to meet you where you are and help you explore the experiences, values, relationships, and sources of meaning that shape your life.
